Guantanamo Boy

Stratford Circus is delighted to be working with director Dominic Hingorani and designer Rachana Jadhav to create an adaptation of Anna Perera’s powerful indictment of the ‘War on Terror’ for the stage.

Stage One took place in early February and involved bringing together Dominic, Rachana, Anna, sound and lighting designer Simon McCorry and four actors to begin the process of finding a theatrical voice for this emotionally hard hitting novel.

The story follows Khalid’s journey from ordinary teenage school boy to suspected terrorist being tortured at Guantanamo Bay.

After hugely favourable feedback from the sharing of the work produced during the week in February Stratford Circus plans to continue working with Dominic and Rachana to see the piece through to full production in 2011.
