Ebony Oration

Mark Black History Month Stratford Circus-style with a weekend of events celebrating black artists and black culture. Curated by associate artists Paula David and Annette Peart, Ebony Oration has something for all the family, from African dance classes (for 8 – 12 yrs, Sat 9 Oct), to a book reading from Guyanese author and screen writer Tessa McWatt (Fri 8 Oct).

Friday night is party night with music from emerging artists Taos and Denise Anyogu, and our favourite DJ Eddie Nestor hosting the post-show party. On Saturday, renowned performance poet Malika Booker and stand-up sensation Andi Osho, will each be holding master-classes with an opportunity to take part in a poetry and comedy slam that evening.

With live foyer music and Caribbean food tasting on offer, this is going to be a celebratory weekend to remember.
